Minor shifting may become more noticeable on designs with:
- thin borders
- small text
- detailed patterns
- tight registration layouts
- precise overlapping elements
- centered symmetrical designs
Folding positions may also vary slightly depending on:
- paper thickness
- material flexibility
- folding direction
- machine tolerance
- artwork layout positioning
International commercial printing standards recognize slight finishing and alignment variation as normal production tolerance within acceptable industry standards.
To achieve the best possible final result, customers are encouraged to:
- avoid placing important elements too close to fold lines or edges
- avoid ultra-thin borders
- allow reasonable spacing for foil and Spot UV artwork
- include proper safe zones and bleed areas
